WICHER band saw for wood
Characteristics of the material of which the WICHER band saw is made:
- backing strip and blade: carbon tool steel containing alloying elements
- such as carbon, silicon, manganese, chromium (hardness 41÷44 HRC, blade hardness after hardening 62÷65 HRC)
Working conditions of WICHER band saw:
- recommended: unbarked cleaned wood, medium hard wood
- possible to use: debarked wood, soft wood
- not recommended: unbarked wood caked, frozen wood
Instructions for using the WICHERband saw:
- tension: 150-155 MPa, recommended use of FENES TPT-67 strain gauge
- cooling: the saw requires ample cooling to avoid overheating
- setting: 0.30 - 0.70 mm per side depending on the species of sawn wood and the width of the belt (setting at 1/2 the height measured from the top), recommended use of the FENES RPT-60 setting tool
- feed rate: 2 - 8 m/min. depending on the species and purity of the wood
- cutting speed: approx. 30 m/s
- sharpening: recommended using SZLIF BORAZON grinding wheel adapted to the geometry of the FENES blade, with oil cooling, recommended using FENES OPT-60 sharpener
- working time: about 1 hour of operation + 12 hours of rest of the saw first sharpening; after about 1 hour of operation of the saw - check the dilation, recommended use of a device for measuring the dilation of teeth
